Who are you?

I am a senior lecturer in academic development, I am leading on education for sustainable development and have been involved in teaching PgCert in teaching, learning and assessment in Higher Education and a wide range of supporting workshops/webinars for academic staff across the CU group. I achieved my PhD in Mathematics Education from Warwick University and have been working in academia for nearly 25 years.

Something else more personal about yourself?

I spend time with my kids ( my daughter Roxanna Paris (6) and my Son Dariush Neo (4) – they love going to farms, parks, woods, etc 🙂

I love horses and dogs too 😉

Something you have learnt recently?

I have been recently working on the links between Education for sustainable development and Authenticity in the university curriculum. I am finalising an article on this with two other colleagues in the University which is making me very excited!

Something you would like to learn over the next few weeks or months?

Filling the gap between the university curriculum and the wants and needs of the societies. To me, this is what the 21st Century education is all about. Bringing Skills and competencies into play in the design of teaching, learning and assessment at Higher Education.
